Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ
Renting a pedal or electric bicycle can be a fun way to spend the day. To help you get the most out of your rental experience, we have accumulated some Frequently Asked Questions, or FAQ, from our customers.
Where is a good place to ride my rental bike?
Our shop is just a two minute bike ride from the entrance to the Little Sugar Creek section of the Greenway. This trail is well maintained with interesting features including water views, wild life, and amenities. The entire section is more than 16 miles and connects to the larger Cross Charlotte Trail.
What is included in the rental?
The bike you chose, a helmet if you don't have your own, and a lock to use for the duration of the rental. We have bags, bottles, snacks, and other accessories available for purchase here at our shop. We highly encourage asking our staff if you are unfamiliar with any part of the bicycle, lock, or the area!
Where do I ride?
If you have a car with a hitch mounted rack capable of carrying our bikes and have checked with our staff on loading the bike, you can take the bikes to where you'd like to ride. If you don't have a vehicle that can safely carry one of our bikes, we recommend riding within easy riding distance of our locations. We have the Little Sugar Creek Greenway across from our Sales floor on South Kings Drive that extends south all the way to South Carolina and north up to NODA. Please ask our staff for more recommendations!
What should I bring with me?
Please bring your photo ID such as a valid US drivers license or passport along with a payment method to our shop when picking up your rental. Having a water bottle is a great way to stay hydrated while out riding, we have a fill-up station here at our shop as well as snacks available for purchase. Otherwise, sun protection and your phone should be what you need. Feel free to bring your own helmet, but we can provide one for you.
How do I carry my personal items while riding?
We recommend bringing a comfortable backpack with you if you want to have items you are worried about falling off of the bike. Depending on the rental bike chosen, we may be able to provide a rack or basket for the rental period. Just ask us!
What if I pick up/ drop off the bike(s) late?
For late drop-offs, customers will be charged a $25 late fee 15 minutes after their drop off time so it's important to be mindful of your scheduled drop-off time. There will be no refunds for cancellations made within 24 hrs of a confirmed reservation. Late pick-ups will not be allotted refunds for lost time within the reservation.
What if I damage the bike(s) during my rental period?
All bikes will be inspected during your check-in. If damages occurred during your rental period, they will be inspected by a mechanic to assess costs which will be charged to the customer who made the reservation.
What if I get a flat?
Rental groups will be sent out with a repair kit. If you are unsure how to repair a flat tire, often other kind bike users can help you if you have the repair kit or you can watch this video to get help. You can also call the service or sales center for additional assistance for using the patch kit.
